Displaying and Managing Notifications
The Notifications palette shows all notifications, in real-time, in one place.
You receive notifications in the following situations:
- A new software update is available
- External reference file is modified
- Another user mentions you in a comment
- Another user requests to edit the drawing
If there are any unread notifications, a red badge with the number of notifications appears on the bell icon on the title bar. Clicking the bell icon on the title bar displays the Notifications palette.
The Notifications command displays the Notifications palette. You can review notifications, mark them as read, save them for later or reject.
To display the Notifications palette:
- Do one of the following:
- On the title bar, click Notifications
.
- On the menu, click Collaborate > Notifications.
- On the ribbon, click Collaborate > Utilities > Notifications.
- Type Notifications.
- On the title bar, click Notifications
The Notifications Palette
The Notifications palette displays all notifications in one place and lets you manage them.
Toolbar
The toolbar contains the following options:
- Pause balloon notification. Disables the display of balloon notifications on the title bar.

Clear all
. Closes all the notifications on the palette.
Notifications area
Displays all notifications from the drawing.
For each notification, you can view the following details:
- User name and avatar
- Timestamp
- Message
Notification types are indicated by the following symbols:
System notification
Comment
User request for editing session. The icon displays user initials or the avatar of the user.
Clicking Options for a notification displays the following menu:
- Accept
- Reject
To clear all notifications:
- On the Notifications palette, click Clear All
.
All notifications on the palette are closed.
To disable balloon notifications:
- On the Notifications palette, select Pause balloon notification.
Ballon notifications will no longer appear on the title bar.

Displaying Software Update Notifications
Use the AppCast command to check if any new updates of the software are available.
You can install a update immediately or later.
To display software update notifications:
- Do one of the following:
- On the title bar on the right side, right-click your user name and specify App Notification.
- Type AppCast.
The dialog box displays the list of available updates. For each update, corresponding release notes appear.
- Use Next and Previous to display other notifications.
- Specify an option:
- Skip this update. Lets you avoid installing the update.
- Remind me. Lets you install the update later.
- Update now. Starts updating the application.
Optionally, enable Show on startup to display the dialog box at application startup.
